Monkey Review - Piraiani

Piraiani found a site which gives user reviews.

Is Epinions a little too dry for you? How about Monkey Review, where hardware, games, DVDs, etc are rated from one to five bananas.

The archives are surprisingly comprehensive, and the reviews well written. Doing a search tried to drop me in a babblefish to translate the English page to German, but a cut and paste got around that.

This site is worth a visit. Thanks, Piraiani!

SlyGreetings Pranks - Andrew

Andrew sent me an online prank - the Driving License site. The site behind it - SlyGreetings, has a bunch of other pranks you can play on your friends.

Some require paid membership - but some are free. They're all pretty good.

Also on the site - Pictures: "These pages are dedicated to the collection of strange and silly pictures we found circulating throughout the Internet. Each picture page can be turned into a personalized e-card you can send to your friends."

Worth a visit. Thanks, Andrew!

Squares Game - Solinas

This was one of my favorite games as a kid. You draw a bunch of dots in a grid, and take turns connecting pairs. Every time you complete a square, you own it. The goal is to get the most squares.

It's fun, and requires 2 people. BUT - there's now an online version, where you play against the computer.

The computer plays an OK game. That's good, so you can win. I think an optimal program could always win, or draw.

Fun. Check it out.

Oddities and Wonders - Solinas

I found this good "stuff" site.

From the site: "Oddities & Wonders contains something for everyone from the smallest children to the most serious adults. Use this information in your own reports, articles, presentations, books, homework, catalogs, letters and conversations, to add sparkle, genius, wit and fun. Use it as food for thought to launch your own great ideas and overcome writer's block. Or, just enjoy what you read!"

Just a few of the areas are: ... and a bunch more topics.

For each category, you get bunches of facts and trivia. It's fun reading.

Check it out.

Free For All!

"Free For All" picks are hot, FREE items or services. It can be software, online services, you name it - but it's got to be free, with no strings attached.

Message Cleaner - Dudley

Taxi Mike was looking for a program to clean up forwarded emails. You know, the ">>>>" stuff that creeps in every time someone forwards an email. Dudley uses Message Cleaner - "It's shareware, but can be used free (after 30 days there is a 30 second delay in its use) It works well and fast. "

ECleaner - Santa Rosa Steve

Santa Rosa Steve uses ECleaner. He says: "I've used ECleaner for years, it works great, even though it's no longer supported by the author. PC World does not say so, but I'm told that ECleaner works fine in Windows ME and XP."

From the site: "Do you forward your favorite e-mail jokes to all your friends? Your wit will be better appreciated if it doesn't arrive with ">>>>>" at the beginning of every line. This nifty little program removes them from e-mail messages, making them look cleaner and preventing choppy word wraps. It even makes the jokes funnier."

Two solutions for the same problem. Check 'em out. Thanks, Dudley and Steve!

AVG 6.0 Anti-Virus System - Santa Rosa Steve

Dudley found it, and Santa Rosa Steve endorces it.

Steve says: "I've used Grisoft AVG Free antivirus for a long time and am very pleased with it. I use Win98SE and Eudora. I've heard rumors that the free version may be discontinued. I sure hope that these rumors are false."

Grab a copy NOW, while it's still free.
