Find a Flushot - Taxi Mike

Taxi Mike reminds us that flu season is rapidly approaching - so it's time for a flu shot.

Even though it is believed there will be enough vaccine this year, you might still need to know when and where shots are being given in your area.

It's a database search. You put in your zip code, mileage radius, and date range and it finds you all scheduled flushot clinics.

The site also has a link to sign up for an email reminder. You enter: Maxim Health Systems, the site owner, will not respond to anything submitted into the form, and will not use the information for any other marketing or mailing purposes.

Thanks, Mike!

Track Me Not - Solinas

If you are concerned that the major search engines collect data from your searches to establish user profiles, this may be of interest to you.

TrackMeNot runs in Firefox as a low-priority background process that periodically issues randomized search-queries to popular search engines, e.g., AOL, Yahoo!, Google, and MSN. It hides users' actual search trails in a cloud of 'ghost' queries, significantly increasing the difficulty of aggregating such data into accurate or identifying user profiles. As of version 0.4.x, TMN's static word list has been replaced with a dynamic query mechanism which 'evolves' each client (uniquely) over time, parsing the results of its searches for 'logical' future query terms with which to replace those already used.

Check it out.
