The Links for August 17, 1996
Dr. Science
- "Ask Dr. Science...he knows more than YOU do." Dr. Science is one of the funniest bits created by the comedy troupe "Ducks Breath Mystery Theatre." Dr Science give you, well, interesting answers to questions. The questions range from the serious to the downright silly. The answers, however, never are serious.
- At this site, you can subscribe to get questions by email, submit your own questions, visit the Vault of Knowledge - a search engine to look up Dr. Science answers containing key words.
- If you know where to look, you can find a picture of our own Dr. Rom - with several photos of his new baby. Dr. Rom is the webmaster. This is a fun site - it's up for the Cool Site of the Year's Cool script category.
Pythonline
- This is THE Monty Python's Flying Circus site! After going through a series of false home pages, you get to the site. The site is VERY graphics intensive, so plan to explore it when you have lots of free time to watch graphics download.
- It's worth the wait for graphics to load. The site is amusing, They offer "online games". 7th Level (producer of the Monty Python CDRom games) wrote a plugin which you download, and then can play a arcade-style games on the web. I won't admit how much time I spent playing cowboy, shooting flying piggies. There are several games - these alone are reason to visit the site. The games play surprisingly well over the net.
Penn and Teller's Sin City
- This is another "Cool Site of the Year" candidate. Penn and Teller are a team of magicians - who blend a good dose of humor (and stage blood) into their performances.
- This web site features a clickable body image map of Penn, construction photos from Penn's bizarre house. You can view the floor plan, click on a room and get the designer's description of what was done, and why.
- This site is extremely visually interesting, and is the product of a joint effort by close to half a dozen people. Your humble Web Wanderer was one of them. It boasts an extensive list of awards, most of which you haven't ever heard of.
