A "Netspedition" to the Amazon
- From the main page: "Netspedition is an interactive scientific
expedition to the Amazon rain forest. The expedition's primary objective is to
demonstrate that scientific research in remote regions can be conducted
interactively on the Internet. The Netspedition team is carrying out experiments in
the field, and the results in the form of text, data and images will be released onto
the World Wide Web (as soon as it is available) for immediate analysis by
collaborating scientists across the globe. Based on their analysis, the scientists can
then advise and direct the team to maximize the research productivity of the
expedition."
- One of the best features is that Internet users will be able to "steer" the expedition remotely. The details haven't been worked out, but there may be an opportunity for "voting" on what path to take.
- This site is worth a look. Swing by it and check out the butterflies.
- Thanks again to Trevor Rieger for this one.
Zeek's Zoo page
- I like this site. It's got "kids cartoonish" image maps and odd sounds. Fun to click and explore.
- Remember that game "Simon"? It looked like a flying saucer, had four colors, and different tones. Simon would start adding tones, one at a time, until you were unable to successfully repeat the pattern. Zeek's has "Zimon" - a very playable copy. Worth a look.
Arcade Games - Shockwave
- Arcade Alley has Shockwave versions of Frogger and Space Invaders. If you were a video game fan in the early days, check 'em out.
