Because of all the loyal O'Donnell on Computers listeners sending in sites, your humble Web Wanderer gets so many cool sites each week, wandering often isn't necessary. This week I have more sites, submitted by KSFO listeners, all of which I'll be visiting again and again.
This site is great. It features "Sightings" - a daily "cool site" with archives, "Future Focus" - a commentary and discussion area covering issues related to the web, html authoring and copyrights, etc. There's a "Developer Zone" filled with tips and techniques, and "Coolest on the Web" - Project Cool's picks for the coolest sites on the web.
This is a MUST VISIT site for web page developers, people interested in web issues, or folks who just like links to very cool pages.,
Thanks, Casey - this site will be a frequent spot for me to visit!!
This is yet another quality find from Dudley. I don't know how he finds all this great stuff, but this one is another keeper.
Drudge Report is a must see site for news junkies. Columnist Matt Drudge features his own report, plus DOZENS of links to other columnists, It is simply a TON of links to press wires, online newspapers, and famous columnists. If your local paper doesn't carry Roger Ebert's column, you can easily find it here.
I really like the news wire section - you can easily search for a keyword in recent AP and UPI press releases. Check it out!
Gus sent this one in. If you are a movie or music fan, you've probably came across a title you wanted, and found it was out of print. In the "old days" when this happened with music, you'd just go to a used record store and find what you wanted.
This site is a place to buy, and sell, CD's and VHS movies on the web. All purchases are guaranteed against defects. Prices are VERY good - most single CD's tend to run between $5 and $7, movies from $6 to $10 typically. With prices that low, it's a great way to explore new artists, who you might not like, without laying down $16 for a CD.
There is a title or two I'm still looking for. The selection on this site is SMALL, but it's easy enough to check back occasionally to see if anything you need is in. Worth a look.
