Earthquake Maps and Information
Thanks to Dudley for sending this one in. Dudley gives a great description of the site:

"Your can pick your location in the Bay Area then pick your fault(Like San Andreas). It will display a map with different colors simulating the potential destruction from a 7.1 quake. It also shows by Roman numerals the 9 or 10 different results of damage to structures in those particular colored areas. Then you can move on and check out the potential damage to a home of your construction. It also has tips on things to stock for quakes and things you can do to make your home safer."

That pretty much says it all - except "CHECK IT OUT." If you've been putting off earthquake proofing your home, now is the time to find out how, and to get to it. This site is a great resource.

The Alex Bennett Live Performance Jukebox
Yet another Taxi Mike find. This is a great Shockwave page. If you've never heard shockwave music, give this site a try. It's great.

The title explains all, except that you really should check this out to see how good the sound is. And - remember to clear your cache, so it's easy to find the files and save them for playing later. Yes, the sound is good enough, when piped through a stereo, to listen to.

Thanks, Taxi Mike - this is cool!

FrameShop
Dave of Dave's Place submitted this sweet little on-line utility for web page authors. Frame shop helps you build a page with frames.

You enter your preferences for frame sizes, whether you want scroll bars, etc, into a form. Click a button - it creates the HTML for that page. You simply view it with your browser, save it, and you can use it in your own web pages.

Also linked to the site - a useful page for creating tables, and for experimenting with colors.

Thanks, Dave - this is a cool, useful little suite of utilities!

Bay to Breakers
Taxi Mike reminds us that tomorrow is the annual "Bay to Breakers." This web site is THE SITE for event information - it features news stories, the schedule of events, a history of the race, the list of sponsors - you name it. I was very surprised to see one of my favorite bands - Los Lobos, will be performing at Footstock.

This site is yet another example of EXCELLENT local web content, put on by The Gate.

Thanks, Taxi Mike, for this one!

Reservations.com
My brother Jerry sent this one for me to share with y'all. It's perfect for your summer vacation planning.

Reservations.com tracks the lowest fares among 30 major cities and 17 vacation destinations, updates its database twice a day and posts only fares still available for booking.

The interface is very nice - it makes planning a trip very, very easy. Check it out!

Marble Drop
Dr Rom featured this on April 26. Tim McCarthy - Bob's Kids Software specialist, loved Marble Drop by Maxis as well. Here's a link to download a free demo, or a free desktop theme for Windows 95, get more information, order online, etc.
